Shanna "Liz" Golyar is a woman from Omaha, Nebraska, serving a life sentence in prison plus 18 to 20 years for the 2012 murder of her ex-boyfriend's girlfriend, Cari Farver. She was profiled on episode seven of Season 13 of Deadly Women, "Fatal Fixation."

In 2012, Liz, a man-hungry party girl, hooked up with a 35-year-old single father known only as "Dave." Dave was not looking for an exclusive relationship and only wanted sex with no strings or commitment. This arrangement was soon not enough for Liz, who fell in love with Dave and wanted to make their relationship more permanent. Dave, however, was still enjoying life without being tied down - until he met 37-year-old Cari Lea Farver and found himself falling in love with her, despite Cari wanting to remain a swinger. Dave continued to see both Liz and Cari, but made his preference for Cari perfectly clear. Hotly jealous, Liz began a campaign of stalking and harassment against Cari, threatening her over the telephone and online.

In November 2012, Cari began sending a series of strange text messages, quitting her job and telling Dave she hated him and never wanted to see him again. Liz claimed she was also receiving harassing texts from Cari. Dave's property was vandalized, ostensibly by Cari. Then, Liz was shot in the leg and blamed Cari for the attack. Police became suspicious when they could find no sign of a shooter anywhere. In addition, Cari Farver seemed to have vanished off the face of the earth and no physical trace of her could be found. Liz also claimed to be receiving text messages from a phantom attacker who claimed to have killed Cari and was threatening to come after Liz next. When police examined Liz's cell phone, they discovered that these text messages were all written and sent by Liz herself. Liz had been impersonating two women online: Cari Farver and a non-existent "attacker."

Four years after Cari's disappearance, the truth finally surfaced. On November 13, 2012, Liz gained entry into Cari's residence, demanded Cari's cell phone and password, and then kidnapped her. Liz then proceeded to stab Cari repeatedly in the stomach and chest. She claimed she then burned the body, dismembered it, and deposited the pieces in trash bags in remote locations. To this day, no trace of Cari Lea Farver's body has ever been found, but police discovered a photograph of Cari's severed foot (identified by a telltale tattoo) that had been deleted from Liz's phone, which was enough to charge Liz with Cari's murder, despite the lack of a murder weapon or any other physical evidence.

In 2017, Liz Golyar was found guilty of first-degree murder and second-degree arson. She is serving life without parole for the murder and an additional 18 to 20 years for the arson.
